The new BELARE season of the Belgian PEA Station in Utsteinen/Antarctica has been opened on 16 November 2011 with 11 people disembarking on the site. Since then, we have conducted two important missions. Both were completely successful.

Seasonal Reopening of the PEA - Princess Elisabeth Antarctica

Alain Hubert and a first team of ten have arrived at Utsteinen. Like every autumn, at this period of the year, they have re-opened the Princess Elisabeth Antarctica belgian station. Except for a gigantic amount of snow accumulated during the austral winter, everything was OK.

Since a few years that I give speeches all over, I do not stop saying that we the people and the countries of the world will not be able to limit the increase in global earth temperature to less than 2°C like the agrement reached at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference in Cancun 2010 had foreseen.
