Throughout my career as a polar explorer, I've been lucky enough to be able to see beautiful landscapes, meet incredible people and live extraordinary adventures.

I've tried to capture these moments on film (in some cases I've been accompanied by a professional photographer) and I'd like to share some of these with you. Enjoy!

  • The Antonov 74 is a Russian cargo plane designed based on the Antonov 72. It is sturdy enough to fly in all weather conditions and is equipped to assist the Arctic logistics teams.

  • To mark the International Polar Year, Alain Hubert and Dixie Dancercoer attempt to cross the Arctic from Siberia to Greenland, a trek of 4 months and approximately 4300 Km.

    In February 2007, Alain Hubert and Dixie Dansercoer leave Brussels to travel by plane, truck and helicopter to the Arktichewski Cape, North Siberia, the departure of their attempt to cross the entire Arctic Icepack towards south Greenland, a trek of about 4 300 km.

  • The bad weather cyclonic activity, forecasted by the Russians, which was meant to take a hold on the area during the afternoon of the 2nd of March just touched them with the tail end on the 4th and 5th.

    Alain Hubert and Dixie Dansercoer have been dropped by an MI8 russian helicopter at about 70 km North from Arctichewski cape (81°13' N / 95°15' E) because of the presence of a huge surface of open leads in front of the cape. They have started their adventure on March 1st 2007.

  • Here are few elements of the equipment which had to be replaced : 3 packages of bandages, 2 bottles of transcutaneous hexomedine, 1 set of batteries, 2 new solar panels, 1 sleeping bag, 1 pair of Hagloff trousers, 1 box of Q-tips, etc.

    After the resupply, Alain and Dixie continue their march. But before touching the North Pole, the duo had to face extreme ice conditions, heavy winds, negative ice drift and most severe weather.
