  • Just a bit of 25-30 knots wind and all the snow came back right away in between the solar panels.
  • No matter the weather, Paul Herman has to put regularly snow in the snow melter. Otherwise no hot water for the shower.
  • Since our arrival at PEA, we haven't had more than an afternoon nice weather in a row.
  • Even when the weather is bad, we have sometimes to go out of the buildings.

  • Our waste material is of course first sorted out into different containers (visible on the background on the picture) before being loaded aboard the Mary Arctica going back to Cape Town.

  • We have to evacuate to Cape Town the tanks with our bio-reactors muds.

  • Pierre Soete is a bit cleaning out the kitchen container furnishing because it has to leave in a few days to the coast for the unlolading of the Mary Arctica.
  • The five o'clock tea pause in the main room before going back to work until nine or ten.
  • During these days of bad weather, we have done a building evacuation simulation (medevac).
  • We need sometimes a lot of people to help. Here during a building the evacuation simulation.
  • Kristoff Soete, our cheif engineer, is always optimistic and in a very good mood.
  • Before going back to the coast, we need to go out with the skidoos in order to prepare the ground with flags, also needed for our expeditions in January and February.
  • When the weather is good, we can not help realizing that we are working in an uppermost amazing environment.
